2017 KTM RC 390 has been launched in India with a price tag of INR 2,25,300 (Ex-showroom Delhi). The motorcycle enters an all-new era with not just visual enhancements but loads of technology on offer. RC 390 now features ride by wire technology, making the already fun sport bike even better while riding. The function further increases the chances of riding modes in the future models. Ride by Wire technology uses sensors to determine the exact amount of throttle and helps the bike behave in a much respectful manner.
2017 KTM RC 390 Officially Launched in India @ Rs 2.25 lakh
The design on the 2017 RC 390 remains almost same while the addition of the new exhaust makes it compatible with the upcoming emission norms in the country. Although, it has grown heavier by a considerable margin, KTM has adjusted the engine performance in such a way that it is even better to drive than the 2016 version. The use of Orange can now even be seen within the fuel tank and outer side fairing. The Black tail panel even now carries the Orange essence, making the bike visually more appealing than ever.
The fairing is now a mixture of Black and White while the older generation has White as the major section. The Black used here is high Gloss whereas it was a bit matted in the last generation. The fairing has reduced from lower section, most probably resulting in better channelization of hot air from the engine compartment. When it comes to ride position, it stays the same on the 2017 KTM RC 390 at the front whereas the rear section gets added padding for more pillion comfort and convenience.
Engine powering the RC390 stays the same 373.3 cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled and fuel injected unit producing 43.5 PS at 9000 rpm and 36 Nm at 7000 rpm. The engine torque has been raised from the previous version by 1 Nm while the power drop of 0.5 PS is also visible on the RC 390. The bike now weighs 170 kg and carries a fuel tank that measures 9.5 liters. This makes the bike strictly for shorter rides as refueling and its riding position can be a big difficulty while on longer than usual rides.KTM provides loads of features like a bigger 320 mm front disc brake, 230 mm rear disc brake, switchable dual channel Bosch ABS, slipper clutch, WP race spec suspension with front USD forks and Orange finished alloy wheels. These features definitely make riding an awesome experience and helps the KTM racer compete with more pride against the Japanese twin cylinder rivals (Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Yamaha R3). 2017 KTM RC 390 will be officially on sale from today. Bajaj Auto currently has 325 KTM showrooms across 239 cities in the country and further plans increase it to 450 outlets by next financial year.
