Suzuki GSX-R150 and GSX-S150 Officially Unveiled

Suzuki has extended its Indonesian lineup by launching GSX-R150 and GSX-S150 for the country. The products are purely based on the all new GSX-R125, unveiled for the European market at Intermot 2016. The Suzuki GSX-R150 is exactly the same design with a different engine, sourced from Suzuki Satria while the other one, Suzuki GSX-S150, is a purely naked version of the 150cc premium sportbike.

GSX-R150 is a very important product for the Asian market as it can be the only potential rival for Yamaha R15 and Honda CBR150R sport bikes in the lightweight segment of motorcycling. GSX-R150 measures 1975 mm in length, 674 mm in width and 1070 mm in height. The wheelbase stands at 1300 mm while the seat height stays 785 mm. It offers a class leading dry weight of just 126 kg and provides a neat 150 mm of ground clearance.

The sport bike uses LED front headlight, keyless ignition, digital instrument console and Suzuki Easy Start system. The shades on offer include Metallic Triton Blue, Titan Black, Matt Black, Brilliant White and Stronger Red with Titan Black. The biggest surprise came out as GSX-S150, the naked version of the premium lightweight sport bike. It surprisingly weighs 127 kg (dry), making it 1 kg heavier than the sporty version. It also uses the same LED lights while looses the fairing to get its very own tank shrouds and front profile. Maximum number of parts are same on both the bikes. The shades on the GSX-S150 are Metallic Triton Blue, Ice Silver, Matt Black and Stronger Red with Titan Black.

Both these sport bikes are powered by a 147.3cc 1-cylinder, water cooled and fuel injected engine, and comes with 4-valve DOHC configuration. It comes with a 6-speed gearbox, and the maximum power generated is 19.17 HP @ 11,000 rpm, and the maximum torque stands at 13.9 NM @ 8500 rpm. As of now, there is no word regarding the launch of GSX-R150 and GSX-S150 in India, Suzuki might announce something in coming months and launch the bikes in India by mid-2017.
