Auto Manufacturers News  Hyundai Introduces Updated SantroHyundai Motor India Ltd., the country's largest exporter and the second largest car manufacturer today introduced the new model of its flagship brand Santro. The new Santro has been designed with luxurious interiors and improved exterior features to further enhance its appeal to the customers. Audi: Sales Up 69% In India, In August 2009Audi has reported a 69.31% hike in its sales in India during August this year, at 171 units, as against 101 units in the year-ago period. Hyundai's Domestic Sales Up 12.9% In August 2009Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) has reported a 12.9% increase in sales in the domestic market during August this year, at 24,401 units, as against 21,610 units in August 2008. Exports went up from 23,100 units in August 2008, to 25,120 units during August this year. Tata Motors August Sales Rise 14%Tata Motors' total sales (including exports) of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles in August 2009 were 49,810 vehicles, a growth of 14% over 43,600 vehicles sold in August 2008. The company's domestic sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for August 2009 were 47,126 nos., a 21% growth over 38,828 nos. sold in August last year. Cumulative sales (including exports) for the company for the fiscal at 220,978 nos., recorded a growth of 2% over 216,062 nos. sold last year. Skoda Offers 2 Years Warranty On Parts & AccessoriesSkoda has announced introduction of 2 years warranty on Skoda Genuine Parts and Accessories for their Indian customers. The two year warranty will be available on Skoda Genuine Parts and Accessories across the product range. Toyota India Targets 150 Dealerships By 2010Toyota India is looking to expand its dealership network in the country with plans to have a total of 150 outlets by 2010. Toyota started with 27 outlets in India in 2000. The Japanese auto maker just inaugurated the 90th outlet of Espirit Toyota in New Delhi. Honda Siel To Boost Jazz Production By 50%Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI) expects a double-digit rate of growth in its sales during FY 2010 and is looking at boosting production of the recently launched Jazz hatchback by 50% from September this year. However, the company believes that demand would still be relatively weak in the immediate future, and does not warrant the completion of its second manufacturing facility in the country (near Alwar, in Rajasthan) to be completed before 2011.
