Rolls-Royce expects to sell a total of around 75 cars in India in 2010, of which the Ghost could comprise 50-60 units. Rolls-Royce, which sold 15 units of the Phantom in India last year, sold a total of only 1,212 cars worldwide in 2008. Toyota To Display New Models At China Auto ShowToyota Corp is planning to showcase nearly 45 concept and production models at the upcoming Guangzhou Motor Show in China. Volkswagen Voted Europe’s Best CarmakerVolkswagen has been voted the best volume car manufacturer in Europe, by visitors to the UK-based Road Test Reports website. In a poll conducted by this website, in which 140,000 people took part, Volkswagen netted 35% of the total votes cast to come out on top as the manufacturer of the best, most reliable cars. Skoda (owned by the VW Group) finished in second place, while Spanish manufacturer SEAT took third place. Nissan Motor India Sets Up New Head Office In ChennaiNissan India has set up its new corporate head office in Chennai, from where Nissan's operations in India will be controlled. Nissan will, of course, also continue with its office in Mumbai, which will operate as a regional office with product planning and sales & marketing teams from Hover Automotive India, Nissan's strategic alliance partner in the country. Mahindra To Set Up New Manufacturing Plant Near ChennaiMahindra India will soon be setting up its new automotive project near Chennai, at an investment of around Rs 1,800 crore. The Tamil Nadu Cabinet cleared the proposal recently and the TN government has also allotted 200 acres of land (of the total 450 acres that will ultimately be needed) for the project. Tata Nano To Get New Features & Diesel Variant Is Coming In 2011Tata Motors is in the process of upgrading the world's cheapest car Nano in the coming few months. Acting on the feedback from the market, the car will get small but significant upgrades with in the next six months. The Nano will get a higher rev limit at 6000 rpm compared to the conservative 5000 rpm earlier. The higher rev limit will improve performance especially in the first two gears allowing greater pull from the engine, important when going up an incline with full load, but the top speed Mahindra Xylo Gets Airbags As Option In Top VariantThe Mahindra Xylo has been a huge success for Mahindra - thanks to reasonable pricing and lots of features on ofer. Mahindra sold more than 2700 units of Xylo sold in October, 2009. Mahindra has just introduced airbags as an option in the Xylo E8 on the basis of customer feedback and suggestions.
