New Honda City Launched!!Thursday, September 25, 2008 As speculated Honda Cars India have launched the all new Honda City in last week of september, that is almost 15 days after its official launch in Thailand. It has been launched in three variants: E, S & S A/T which is the fully loaded model with paddle shift feature like they have in Honda Civic.
The front is definitely inspired by the likes of the European Honda Civic and the Honda FCX Clarity. The headlamps feature reflector lense instead of the more expensive projector type, which is expected at this price range. The Rear of new city looks like a mini-ish BMW 3-series with aggresive looking bumper and tail lights.
The interiors of new Honda City are light. Some markets may get a dark interior, hopefully. Our current City model come with either a dark interior for the VTEC & a light interior for the i-DSI. It features a clean and simple interior with integrated audio and the new design Honda steering

Apollo Tyres, one of the major automobile tyre makers in India, plan to tap the European market as they plan to start their operation in Europe. They will open up their first sales, marketing and technical office in Germany in January 2009. They will also be giving final touches to their 7-million Greenfield project in East Europe.

Whether or not Bajaj’s partnership with Renault-Nissan gets formalised, Bajaj is committed to its four-wheeler project, which will include a small, low-cost car and a mini commercial vehicle, with both vehicles sharing a common engine.Of course, none of this means that the Bajaj-Renault- Nissan alliance for the ULC is off. ‘Everything for the proposed JV is absolutely on track and all our teams are working 24×7 on the ULC project,’ said a Renault spokesperson recently.

General Motors plans to hire 500 new workers at its Talegaon plant in Maharashtra, India. The company is facing tough times back home but it has big expansion plans lined up for India. It is also planning to launch its small car in India to capture a larger market segment.

Ford Fusion shall be phased out soon from the Indian car market. The model has shown a decline in sales since past several months. The company plans to phase out the model owing to its poor sales performance. The model was launched in early 2004 but has received a very poor response from the Indian auto market.
