Cheaper Model of TVS iQube in the Making - Watch Out Bajaj, Ola, and Ather!

Cheaper Model of TVS iQube in the Making - Watch Out Bajaj, Ola, and Ather!

TVS Motor Company, the Indian automaker, is reportedly working on a more affordable version of its iQube electric scooter. This comes after the government reduced the FAME II subsidy for electric vehicles. This makes it less economical to produce and sell premium e-scooters with larger battery packs.

The current iQube is priced at around Rs 1.35 lakh (ex-showroom). TVS offers the iQube with a 3.04kWh battery pack and a TFT display. The more affordable version of the iQube is expected to have a smaller battery pack and fewer features. This could help TVS to reduce the cost of the scooter by Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000.

The iQube is currently the second highest-selling electric scooter in India, after the Ola S1 Pro. The more affordable version of the iQube could help TVS to increase its market share in the electric scooter segment.

The iQube is a popular choice among buyers because it is well-equipped and offers a good range. The scooter has a top speed of 78 km/h and a claimed range of 100 km on a single charge. It also comes with features such as a TFT instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity, and a reverse mode.

The new, more affordable version of the iQube is expected to be launched in India in the coming months. It will be interesting to see how it performs in the market and whether it can help TVS to challenge the dominance of the Ola S1 Pro and Bajaj Chetak.
