Honda 2-Wheeler Sales Breakdown for October 2023 – Activa, CB Shine, Dio, Navi

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) sold 4,91,838 units in total (domestic + exports) in October 2023. 29,091 of these were exported, and 4,62,747 were sold in domestic markets. While it was a notable rise over the 4,49,414 units the company sold in October 2022, it was noticeably lower on a month-to-month basis than the 5,25,816 units it sold in September 2023.

In October 2023, Honda sold 4,62,747 units domestically, an increase of 8.63 percent from the 4,25,992 units sold in the same month in 2022. There was an increase in volume of 36,755 units. In September 2023, the company recorded domestic sales of 4,91,802 units; however, on a month-over-month basis, it was lower. The MoM sales of each model in the company's lineup have decreased dramatically.

Honda Activa dominated the domestic sales charts once more last month, selling 2,18,856 vehicles and holding a 47.29 percent market share. This represented a 3.92 percent YoY increase from the 2,10,623 units sold in October 2022. With 1,31,816 units sold last month, up 0.69 percent YoY from 1,30,916 units sold in October 2022 to secure a 28.49 percent share, the CB Shine came in at number two.

Honda Dio saw a rise in demand; sales of the vehicle increased 34.19 percent YoY to 32,385 units last month from 24,134 units sold in the same month previous year. The Honda Shine 100, which is relatively new, sold 31,771 units last month, accounting for 6.87 percent of the domestic market share. With a 48.72 percent YoY reduction, sales of Honda Unicorn nearly halved, falling to 16,404 units from 31,986 units sold in October 2022.

On the list of 150-200cc motorcycle sales last month, it was ranked No. 4, after the Yamaha FZ, Pulsar, and Apache. Honda Dream sales last month increased by 11.48 percent to 9,612 units, while SP160 sales were at 8,014 units. The Honda SP160, which shares an engine with the Unicorn, was introduced in India in August 2023 and is priced in between the Unicorn and the XBlade.

Sales of Hornet 2.0 increased by 176.52 percent to 3,650 units from 1,320 units sold in October 2022, while sales of Honda Livo fell by 24.09 percent to 5,103 units last month. Customers are especially drawn to the Hornet 2.0 because of its cutting-edge features and athletic appearance. On a year-over-year basis, sales of CB350 also decreased by 35.80 percent to 2,883 units.

Regarding the Honda CB200X, the largest percentage rise was seen. Sales last month were 1,810 units, up 990.36 percent from 166 units sold in October 2022. Demand fell by 36.12 percent for CB300 and 166.67 percent for Gold Wing, respectively.

Honda Navi and Dio Command Export List in October 2023

With a YoY gain of 24.20 percent to 29,091 units, up from 23,422 units shipped in October 2022, Honda's 2W exports last month were likewise favorable. In volume terms, this represented an increase of 5,669 units. In October 2023, Honda Navi (12,217 units) and Dio (5,268 units) hold a combined 60 percent share of the export list.

By 2033, activa scooter exports had also greatly increased.33 percent to 3,328 units sold in October 2022, up from just 156 units in October 2022, to capture an 11.44 percent market share worldwide. Hornet 160R saw a YoY growth of 7.80% to 1,216 units, while CB Shine saw a YoY decline of 34.06 percent to 2,130 units.

While Dream (1,100 units), X-Blade (960 units), Livo (800 units), Unicorn 160 (444 units), and Grazia (120 units) saw a sharp decline in exports last month, 1,160 units of the CB350 were also shipped. Shine 100 (108 units) and Aviator (120 units) were also listed for export.
