Harley-Davidson Street 750 Sales Down to 0 Units in India

Harley-Davidson Street 750 recently posted the worst ever sales number in India. The brand posted 0 units in the sales chart and saw a 100% drop in the YoY sales report. Not just that, the Street Rod 750 also got 0 buyers during the same time frame. Most reports claim the reason behind the sales drop to be the rising demand for the Royal Enfield Twins among buyers as getting a 2-cylinder cruiser motorcycle at just half the price can deflect the buyer interest from the entry-level Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

On the other hand, the real reason is quite heartbreaking. The production of the Street series was halted due to a brake issue that led to a global recall by Harley-Davidson. The issue with the brakes affected approximately 44,000 Street 750 and Street Rod examples, manufactured between May 19, 2015, to December 6, 2018. A large chunk of motorcycles was made in India during this period, and thus, the brand halted the sales to keep a check on the problem getting solved first. The deliveries of both the motorcycles will start once the issue is completely resolved.

Not just that, buyers looking for a dual tone shade will need to spend INR 5.61 lakh as the ex-showroom price.

Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is priced at INR 2.50 lakh for the base, INR 2.58 lakh for the dual tone and INR 2.70 lakh for the chrome shade. The most expensive model from Royal Enfield is the chrome Continental GT 650 at INR 2.85 lakh. Harley-Davidson Street Rod 750 is priced at INR 6.53 lakh and commands INR 6.81 lakh worth price tag for the dual tone shade option.
