Aprilia SR125 was recently launched in India for INR 65,309 (Ex-showroom Price). The report was made official by BikeIndia. It was first seen when Aprilia was planning homologation with ARAI and then spotted at other occasions without any camouflage.
The launch of a smaller model will help Aprilia place itself at an even more attractive price tag and get a wider customer base that need mileage over performance. SR125 will help fans with strict budget explore the possibility of the race inspired design of the SR series.
It looks identical to the Aprilia SR 150 and shares almost every basic components in its body. The body shades are different when compared to the elder sibling. Aprilia SR 125 carries a 124cc, single cylinder engine producing 9.7 BHP at 8500 rpm and 10.6 Nm at 7500 rpm.
The engine comes mated to an automatic gearbox while the scooter weighs just 122 kg. It carries identical seat height, ground clearance and wheels on offer in the Indian version. The fuel tank even carries 7 liters of carrying capacity.
SR 125 comes with front telescopic forks while rear uses single sided coil spring suspension. The engine is shared with 125cc Vespa scooters while body design and material stays the same as Aprilia SR150. Different shades and sticker job guarantees individual presence of both the scooters..
The Indian SR150’s engine is good for 10.4 BHP and 11.4 Nm of torque. The best part of Aprilia SR125 is its value for money approach, fetching buyers who were ready to get a new Honda Grazia or Suzuki Access 125 in the coming months.
However, placing the same at this point saved them from equipment de-tuning and other cost cutting measures. The price gap between both the scooters is just INR 3000 (ex-showroom, approx).
