Toyota Rush to Reportedly Launch in India by 2021

Toyota Rush is one of the most popular products from the Japanese manufacturer. As per a recent report, it is expected to launch in India by the end of 2020 or in the first quarter of 2021. Second generation Rush is a complete departure from last generation design, gaining a sharp face and MPV style rear end for better competition. It comes with a powerful presence as its design is inspired by bigger Toyota cars. The updated Rush now comes with faux underbody protection parts at both the ends. This adds a bit of sportiness to the exterior but once you take a look at the overall body design, a Honda BR-V like stance comes alive.

The last-gen Toyota Rush used to feature a boot mounted spare wheel while it goes clearly missing from the present generation design. The boot now opens in the upward direction. 2019 Toyota Rush measures 4435mm in length, 1695mm in width and 1705mm in height. The ground clearance of the car stands at 220mm.

An adequate amount of ground clearance is visible while wheelbase of the new Rush measures 2685mm. The version shown here is the top-spec TRD Sportivo with 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, black grille, black fog light frame, and the car also features keyless entry system. The lower spec variant of Toyota Rush comes equipped with 16-inch alloy wheels.

The Indonesian market gets the new Toyota Rush with a 1.5-litre petrol engine, which is good for 104 HP of maximum power and 136 NM of maximum torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox on the base spec car while the TRD Sportivo version comes with a 4-speed automatic transmission. Toyota will place the Rush around the price segment of Honda BR-V in India.

Apart from a few visual components, the product could be a hit among buyers with its premium interior that offers soft-touch materials all over. Honda is struggling to keep up the sales of BR-V in India and Toyota entering the segment will further end their chances of survival.
