2019 Toyota Auris has been unveiled at Geneva Motor Show. Based on Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA), the model will offer more than just everyday commute to its buyers this year. First of all, Auris has grown 40mm in length.
For those who imagine redesigned body with bigger overhangs, Toyota worked opposite to shift all 40 of them into the wheelbase. It has gone lower by 25mm and brings impressive stance to this hatchback. The pointy front face has lost 20mm in total, reducing the overhangs for an efficient mixed surface ride. Overall, Auris looks much more dynamic than ever.
Toyota has used black roof and pillars to achieve this smart look on the car. It carries the hybrid badge but this time, buyers will get option between fuel efficiency boosting and overall power improving options for better selection.
Buyers can now select an efficient 1.8L petrol engine with 122 HP or a powerful 2.0L petrol engine with 180 HP. Those who are not into the Hybrid system can go for 1.2L turbo petrol motor without any electric support. This switch was seen from five non-hybrid and one hybrid engine available on last generation Auris.
Toyota may feel like a small volume brand in India but their international presence is huge in terms of volume. Cars like Auris brings almost 1.5 million units in sale from Europe only. Yearly numbers are over 10 million and believe me, most brands are not even close to this number worldwide.
Toyota Auris comes with LED headlights, class leading space and a roof spoiler as standard on all variants. Toyota takes emission classes very seriously as they are planning to cut all this down by 50% on most of its models. Also, they have been using hybrids from last two decades.
