Brand-Wise 2-Wheeler Sales Report (April 2018): Two-wheeler brands witnessed a lot of change in their total numbers in April 2018. The difference was so huge that gap between Hero MotoCorp (6,77,792 units) and Honda (6,35,824 units) came down to just 41,968 units.
Last month, this gap was around 2.85 lakh units. TVS Motor retained the third position by selling 2,41,604 units while Bajaj Auto gained a lot and came closer by registering 2,00,742 units. Royal Enfield remained almost constant with 74,627 units.

Yamaha Motor India registered a little growth with 67,668 units while Suzuki (52,237 units) improved a lot when compared to the sales number last month. Piaggio products were good for 6,859 units in April 2018 while Mahindra registered 495 two-wheelers during the same period.
Harley Davidson (163 units) and Kawasaki (120 units) registered negative growth by losing a large number from their sales report of March 2018 while Triumph (110 units) showed some growth.
The decreasing gap between Hero and Honda signifies that both are playing tough in this battle of number one ranking. TVS Motor and Bajaj Auto are also struggling with this same problem for the third and fourth position.
In fact, decreasing difference between Yamaha and Suzuki also signifies an increase in demand for lesser known bikes. Piaggio retailed a good number of premium scooters.
