Maruti Suzuki is yet to confirm the news officially but, the recently spied images for Vitara clear that Hyundai Creta and Tata Harrier will not be the only contenders of this segment. The car that was spotted came without any camouflage, leaving fans stunned to see the extended profile and Brezza-like stance.
The car comes with Range Rover inspired bonnet angle, Vitara specific headlight design, extended legroom and more than usual room for luggage. When all this comes paired to the attractive diamond cut wheels, Vitara proves itself as an impressive SUV. One report claims that these test mules are here for international variant testing only.
They believe that supplier change and part testing could be the reason behind the repetitive visuals of Suzuki Vitara in India. Maruti is currently using S-Cross as a rival to other SUVs like Duster and Creta in India.
Being a crossover, S-Cross commands a different segment of buyers who prefer space but have no strict SUV liking. If launched in India, Vitara could get the new 1.5L petrol and 1.5L diesel engine. Using the more powerful DDiS 200 tune may not feel sufficient for a car of this size and status.
Maruti Suzuki is almost ready to launch the new Ciaz in India. The flagship sedan will feature a new face, LED headlights and all new grill. Some reports even hint that they will introduce the new 1.5L petrol engine with Ciaz in August.
Suzuki Vitara is also ready for a facelift internationally, again pointing in the opposite direction of an immediate launch that most fans expect from Maruti Suzuki. Internationally, the SUV is available with 1.6L petrol and 1.4L Boosterjet engine. The latter is a more powerful turbocharged motor with 140HP of maximum power and 230Nm of torque. Vitara could feature both a manual and automatic gearbox option.
