Maruti Suzuki has launched a limited edition model of their popular hatchback Swift in India. Known as Swift Deca, it is based on the current-gen Swift’s VXi and VDi variants.. This may be Maruti’s way of reviving the slowing down sales of the Swift because a lot of buyers are preferring Hyundai i20 Elite and Maruti Suzuki Baleno over Swift.
The limited-edition model has been inspired from the customized Swift shown at the 2016 Auto Expo. The Swift Deca is available in two variants – the mid-spec VXi priced at Rs 5.94 lakh and VDi priced at Rs 6.87 lakh. The special-edition Swift continues to be powered by the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engines. Price mentioned here are ex-showroom Delhi.
The newly introduced features in the Swift Deca includes:
- Sony touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth
- Door-mounted speakers
- Special graphics
- Side skirts
- Rear spoiler
- Unique seat covers (Red/Black)
- Cover for the steering wheel and gear boot cover
- Faux carbon fibre finish on the centre console
- Front doors though gets the number ’10’ decals
- Reverse parking camera with sensors
- Front arm rest
- Special ambient lighting
- New floor mats
- New door sills
The next-gen Swift would be launched in this September and thus the Swift Deca is expected to be the last special-edition model for the existing Swift in India.
