It’s Official: Bajaj Pulsar NS160 Gets Twin Discs & Wider Tyres

Bajaj Pulsar NS160 with a rear disc brake is now official. Bajaj Auto confirmed the fact through an official image posted on their Facebook page. They are celebrating 1 Crore Pulsars on Indian roads and NS160 with added features is a part of this celebration. The motorcycle now comes with 90/90-17 front and 120/80-17 rear tire for better looks and enhanced road grip. The addition of a rear disc brake makes it more worthy rival to Honda CB Hornet 160R, Suzuki Gixxer, and Yamaha FZ-S. The motorcycle is still not listed on the official website but, comes with a difference of INR 4500 from the standard NS160 with a single front disc.

Bajaj Auto is an expert in bringing more variants out of their limited number of models. One such example was Pulsar 150 Classic, leaving buyers stunned with their basic pricing for an engine so refined that they clocked 48,219 units for Pulsar 150 alone in July 2018. The launch of CT100B pushed their collective sales up by a considerable margin and thus, getting more buyers with Pulsar NS160 dual disc is natural. The motorcycle is powered by a 160.3cc, single-cylinder engine, producing 15.3 BHP at 8500 rpm and 14.6 Nm at 6500 rpm.

The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. As all others Pulsars are known for a high-speed thrill, Pulsar NS160 is a no different story with similar ride feel and impressive levels of control. The newly introduced model with better tires will further improve the way this bike sticks to the road. As this fact may not be known to most buyers, the insurance premium of bikes varies with the exact displacement issued by the company. The bikes with displacement over 150cc (NS160 in this case) will get a bigger policy price than those under 150cc (Pulsar 150).
