BMW-TVS Apache RTR 310 [Here’s What We Know So Far]: According to a recent statement by K. N. Radhakrishnan, President, CEO & Additional Whole-Time Director – TVS Motor Company, the fourth BMW-TVS bike will be launched in India later this year. Though nothing has been revealed officially about the upcoming bike, it is expected to be the naked version of TVS Apache RR 310. Rumoured to be known as Apache RTR 310, the motorcycle is doing rounds on the internet for quite a long time now.
Apache RTR 310 (rumoured name) will share the entire part set up with the BMW G310R as the current-generation Apache RR 310 and G310R just have a different subframe and handlebar. On the other side, the mainframe, engine, exhaust, fuel tank, suspension, and even the braking system remain identical.
The upcoming BMW-TVS motorcycle is expected to feature a G310R-sourced subframe bolted on the body that will bring down the rear seat height for easy everyday use. Also, the clip-on handlebar could be replaced with a standard handlebar to achieve a relaxed sitting posture.
When it comes to looks, TVS Draken concept-inspired front fascia can be the best bet for the brand as fan-following for the concept is the highest-ever for a TVS streetfighter design showcased at the Auto Expo.
Mechanically, the RTR 310 will be powered by the same 312.2cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled engine, which also powers the TVS Apache RR 310, BMW G310R, and the BMW G310GS.
The engine will be good for a maximum power of 34 HP @ 9,700 rpm and a peak torque of 27.3 Nm @ 7,700 rpm. It will come mated to a 6-speed transmission. In terms of pricing, the Apache RTR 310 is expected to get an ex-showroom price tag of around INR 2.10-2.20 lakhs.
