KTM RC125 India Launch in June; Deliveries to Begin in July

KTM RC125 will officially arrive in India in the third week of June 2019. The launch plan also includes the deliveries starting as early as the first week of July. The India-spec model is expected to get slight changes in terms of design in comparison to the international-spec version of the 125cc sports bike.

The warm welcome of the KTM 125 Duke hinted at an equally-impressive arrival for the full faired motorcycle but, no one would have ever guessed that KTM will fast-forward the launch to June 2019 for the best of both worlds. The monthly sales number for the Indian arm of the Austrian brand will suddenly see a spike when buyers will get the most affordable full-faired motorcycle from the brand.

First of all, the brand will skip the side exhaust to save the additional cost as 125 Duke also arrives with the same treatment. However, the best part here is that the underbelly exhaust design is already available with the KTM RC 200 and both can share the side fairing panel that covers the stubby exhaust.

KTM RC125 will feature the same engine as Duke 125, producing 14.5 HP of maximum power and 12 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The India-spec KTM 125 Duke is also different from the international model as they are using the older design on the motorcycle here.

However, KTM RC125 is based on the iconic RC lineup where the basic design remains identical to all other racers. KTM India posted more than 50,000 units in the sales chart in the last financial year and with the launch of RC125 in India, the number will rise further for sure.

The features like orange alloy wheels and sport-tuned suspension will also remain identical to the KTM RC200. The motorcycle rivals none other than Yamaha R15 V3 in India, further expected to carry a price tag of around INR 1.45 lakh in the cost-sensitive Indian market.
