KTM 390 Adventure has been recently spotted in the production-ready guise and the version seen here confirms that KTM will successfully place their bike against the BMW G310GS, further offering Adventure R variant for a lead in this segment. Lightweight dual-purpose machines are gaining popularity these days and KTM is well known for taking the matter seriously in this department.
The design lines are partially inspired by the 790 variant and side profile clears that the model will not share the exhaust with an existing model. Further, KTM could also use this exhaust to make their existing models BS6-compliant.
The seat is wide and high while the distance between the tire and rear seat confirms extended suspension travel on the model. The front fascia is quite compact for an adventure motorcycle but, using a bigger frame could have raised the weight unnecessarily for the model.
The ample amount of ground clearance and black frame will keep the model away from both underbelly obstacles and not-so-required limelight. The standard model is seen with black alloy wheels while suspension at the front features black casing and extra-travel feature.
KTM will use the same 373cc, single cylinder engine under the panels, producing almost the same amount of power and torque as the 390 Duke. However, the Euro6 or BS6-compliant nature of the engine may take a toll on the exact output values. One of the images also shows the accessorized version of the model with side bags and huge windscreen.
The handlebar can be seen with knuckle guards while the lower section comes with crash protectors. KTM will showcase the product at EICMA 2019 while launch could take place in early 2020. The global launch event may also mark the entry of KTM 390 Adventure in India. The pricing will definitely fall above INR 2.50 lakh.
