Kymco X-Town 300i could be the first product that the brand plans to introduce in India. The maxi-scooter craze is limited to just 125-150cc products in India and the introduction of the 250-300cc product can raise the commuter-friendly scooter segment benchmark by one level.
Suzuki Burgman is the closest thing to a maxi scooter for the Indian market presently. However, the same is based on the Access 125 frame and flaunts huge body panels. On the other hand, X-town 300i is a full-sized, fully-equipped premium scooter.
Kymco X-Town 300i is powered by a liquid cooled, fuel injected 276cc engine, producing 24.4 HP at 7250 rpm and 25 Nm at 6250 rpm. This engine is a great option for those who crave power from an automatic product. The same segment motorcycles are tuned to produce much more power but here, the primary focus is on riding comfort and ease of even the pillion rider.
The front comes with a motorcycle-inspired twin headlight setup with indicators being neatly studded into the side fairing. The visor is huge and that guarantees the minimum amount of windblast for the rider.
The long wheelbase and sporty exhaust further add to the premium feel of Kymco X-Town 300i. The rear end features an LED light setup and twin shocks for the added comfort. The interesting part for the scooter is its instrument console, featuring car-like twin pods and centre-placed MID. The left section houses the speedometer while the right part comes with a full-sized tachometer with 10,000 rpm limit.
The massive under-seat storage offers space for up to 2 helmets, still leaving a lot of space for other important things. Both the ends are equipped with disc brakes and Bosch 9.1 ABS safety shield. The Kymco X-Town 300i scooter is expected to get an ex-showroom price tag of around INR 2 lakh in India.
