Top 20 Best-Selling Hatchbacks in India (Sales Report): The hatchback segment in cars is the most preferred segment among buyers. If we look at the sales, Maruti’s Alto is leading this segment with a growth of 4% in comparison to the sales figure for the previous year.
The car managed to register 18,733 units of sales figure which is the highest in this segment. Top four positions in the hatchback segment have been bagged by the Maruti Suzuki hatchbacks. Maruti Swift is the second-most selling hatchback in June 2019 with 16,330 units. The Baleno takes the third position with 13,689 units by leaving WagonR to the fourth position with 10,228 units in the same period.
Hyundai makes its entry into the list with i20 and bags the fifth position in terms of sales with 9,271 units. The Grand i10 is just below the i20 with 6,097 units while the Tata Tiago grabs the seventh position with 5,537 units leaving behind Maruti’s Celerio at 4,871 units. If we talk about the new entries in the hatchback segment, Toyota Glanza is the name that will strike in your mind first.
The rebadged version of Maruti Baleno was good enough to register 1,919 units in June 2019 beating the Volkswagen Polo and Honda Jazz by a good margin. The Ford cars were not able to show impressive sales as their Freestyle was able to get a sales number of just 592 units and the Figo was good for 308 units.
