The arrival of Hyundai Creta midsize SUV in 2015 changed the course of the SUV market in India. The SUV has been able to register consistent sales every month ever since the initial launch. In order to keep the excitement running across the potential buyers, the brand introduced the facelifted Hyundai Creta in 2018 and now, they are all ready to introduce the 2020 Hyundai Creta in the coming months.
We haven’t come across any test mules of the next-gen Hyundai Creta on the Indian roads though, one can dig out many specifications and details from the 2020 ix25, the Chinese version of Hyundai Creta which has been recently spotted testing in China.
According to the recent reports, the upcoming 2020 Hyundai Creta will be based on the underpinnings of the Kia Seltos. The similarities between the two SUVs will include the same platform as well as the same engine lineup. Since the Kia Seltos will be launched in India with a set of BS6-compliant engines, one can expect Hyundai to use the same engines for the next-gen Creta.
Being developed with polarizing looks, the upcoming Creta will be sharing major of its design elements with its younger sibling Hyundai Venue. The front fascia features the familiar split headlight design leaving the upper section for indicators or daytime running lights. The model comes with a unique third portion within the panel that virtually connects the upper and lower part of the light. The same pattern is available in the tail section too.
The brand will be further equipping the next-gen Creta with a premium feature list. The 2020 Hyundai Creta will feature embedded eSIM technology which will enable the SUV with remote start and stop, remote AC on-off, geo-fencing, driving speed alerts and more.
For the 2020 Hyundai Creta, one can also expect the Korean manufacturer to introduce a 7-seater variant in order to compete with the upcoming 7-seater Harrier and the recently launched MG Hector. Other competitors for its lineup includes Kia Seltos as well as Mahindra XUV500. The all-new Hyundai Creta is expected to be launched in India at the Auto Expo in February 2020.
