As per the latest buzz, the Bajaj-Triumph alliance will be officially announced on January 24 at an event. Both the brands have been hinting at their global partnership from 2017 while the official confirmation on the alliance will be made by both the parties at a press conference soon.
Though there is no official information on what to expect from the global partnership of the motorcycle giants, one can certainly expect the brands to roll out a mid-range motorcycle series in conjunction with the best traits borrowed from both Bajaj as well as Triumph motorcycles.
Since Triumph motorcycles are currently known in the market for targeting only a narrow range of audience with only a few production units of the motorcycles, the partnership with Bajaj Auto will be a wise opportunity for the British brand to foray its reach to the wider audience as well as offer mass production of its motorcycle range.
Coming to the opportunities in store for Bajaj, the brand will benefit from Triumph’s immense popularity in the premium motorcycle segment as well as the fame that will follow it. The Bajaj-Triumph alliance will allow Bajaj to move its portfolio in the upscale motorcycle segment with more relaxed styling, different from the portfolio currently offered by the brand. The popularity of KTM Duke and RC series will remain unaffected with the alliance and the new mid-range motorcycle developed from the partnership will co-exist with the KTM range.
Triumph motorcycles will be further benefited with the access to easy labour as well as well-tailored engineering concepts that have helped Bajaj to climb on top in the Indian motorcycle segment. Moreover, Triumph’s expertise in carrying out the mid-range cruiser range will effectively help Bajaj to target major audience that currently follows the Royal Enfield like a cult.
