The 2020 BS6 Bajaj Pulsar 220F has started reaching dealerships ahead of the official launch in the coming days. In addition to that, the price of the motorcycle has also been revealed. It will launch with a price tag of INR 1.16 lakh (ex-showroom Pune). The BS6-compliant model of the Pulsar 220F is priced approximately INR 9,000 higher than the BS4 model, which is available with a price tag of INR 1.07 lakh, till the stock lasts.
The BS6 Bajaj Pulsar 220F is equipped with a fuel-injection system, an ECU, and a catalytic converter to meet the upcoming BS6 emission norms that will be implemented in the country on April 1 this year. In terms of design, there are no changes as the BS6 model looks exactly similar to the current-gen BS4 model of the Pulsar 220F. The bike features the same semi-faired design with projector headlights, a split-seat setup and a tall front visor.
As of now, we don’t have the details regarding the power and torque values of the updated 220cc fuel-injected BS6 model though we can expect the motorcycle to get a slight drop in the values like most of the recently launched BS6 bikes. For reference, the BS4-compliant model of the Bajaj Pulsar 220F is powered by a 220cc, single-cylinder carburetted, oil-cooled engine that generates a maximum power of 20.93HP @ 8500 rpm and a peak torque of 18.55Nm @ 7000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The suspension duties on the BS6 Bajaj Pulsar 220F continues to be handled by telescopic forks with anti-friction bush at the front and 5-way adjustable Nitrox shock absorbers at the rear. For braking performance, the bike remains equipped with a 260mm single disc at the front and a 230mm single disc at the rear, which are further mated to a single-channel ABS unit as standard.
