The prototype model of Tork T6X electric motorcycle has been recently spotted testing again on the Indian roads. Tork Electric unveiled the T6X concept back at the Auto Expo 2016 while the motorcycle was expected to be officially launched in 2019. Since the brand didn’t offer any official statement on the delay, the recent sighting of the electric motorcycle does confirm a sooner launch.
The debut product from the Mumbai-based electric vehicle startup, the Tork T6X prototype features the traditional camouflage on its body panels though one can easily consider it to be a production-ready variant. The Tork T6X features a sporty commuter-inspired design language with a low slung position offered to the front headlight. The electric motorcycle features sharp body panels flowing towards the rear. In addition to this, the EV features an all-digital instrument console while the single-piece saddle offers better cushioning for additional comfort.
Coming to the mechanical specifications, powering the Tork T6X EV is a 72Ah Li-ion battery mated to a 6kW brushless DC motor that is capable of offering a torque of more than 25Nm. The company-claimed range of the EV stands at 100km with a single charge of battery while the top speed is recorded at 100kmph. The battery is capable of supporting fast charging while reaching its 80% potential within just 1 hour.
Though the performance figures might not land the T6X EV ahead of the ICE competitors, it sure is a better option for a cleaner environment. There has been no official confirmation on the price tag of the upcoming Tork T6X EV though one can expect it to be priced around INR 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched in India, it will compete in the market with the likes of Revolt RV400 as well as Ather 450X.
