BS6 Toyota Fortuner Price Increased: Toyota officially launched the BS6-compliant model of the Fortuner SUV in the Indian market back in February 2020 without any price hike in comparison to the BS4 model. Now as per the official website of Toyota, the prices have been increased by INR 48,000 across all variants. The updated price range starts from INR 28.66 lakh for the base petrol model while the prices go all the way up to INR 34.43 lakh for the top-spec 4×4 diesel variant. Mechanically, the 2.7-litre petrol engine is capable of producing 166 HP of maximum power along with 245 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The diesel model, on the other hand, churns out 177 HP of power and 420 Nm of utmost torque. It gets paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
There is also an option for a six-speed automatic gearbox for both the engine options. However, the 4×4 drive system is only available in the diesel variant of the SUV. The automatic model of the diesel Fortuner generates a slightly higher torque figure at 450 Nm.
The BS6 model continues to feature the same leather interior and a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with embedded navigation. In terms of safety, the SUV is equipped with 7 airbags, hill-hold assist control, ABS and EBD. The closest rival to the Toyota Fortuner is Ford’s Endeavour.
