According to one of the recent reports, Hyundai Alcazar SUV name was trademarked in India back on April 13, 2020 hinting that it could be the official name for the much-talked-about 7-seater Creta. Though Hyundai has not revealed anything officially yet, the 7-seater SUV is expected to launch in the Indian market in early 2021. Recently, Kleber Silva also posted the digital renderings of the 7-seater ix25 (Creta) on Behance giving the audience an idea on how the Hyundai Alcazar could look like.
The 7-seater Creta (Hyundai Alcazar) has also been spotted testing a lot of times outside India. Judging from the rendered images by Kleber Silva, the SUV looks like a stretched variant of the 5-seater Creta with a larger boomerang front grille mated to LED DRLs and projector headlamps. The Hyundai logo has been positioned just below the chrome stripe inside the front grille while the lower bumper has been equipped with fog lamps with skid plates at the bottom.
The length of the Hyundai Creta has been increased to accommodate the third row of passengers while the wheelbase has also been increased. In addition to this, the floating roof design, as well as the diamond-cut alloy wheel setup in the 7-seater Creta (Hyundai Alcazar) remains similar when compared to the standard 5-seater variant. The designer has not offered any interiors details on the upcoming SUV though one can expect the Korean manufacturer to offer a host of premium features to its next product.
The upcoming SUV is expected to feature similar powertrains as offered to the 2020 Kia Seltos which includes a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre diesel engine and a 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine. The engines will be further mated to a manual and DCT gearboxes depending on the variant.
