New Variant of Royal Enfield Himalayan Spied Testing Again

New Variant of Royal Enfield Himalayan Spied Testing Again

Royal Enfield appears to be preparing to launch an affordable version of its stylish Himalayan adventure motorcycle. Its previous update came earlier this year and seems like a more improved and refined version when compared to older models. On the other side, the company is continuously working on updates to this popular motorcycle. The test mule of the bike was spotted for the first time back in July this year, and now new spy shots have surfaced online, which are more revealing as compared to previous ones.

According to the spy photographs, the new Himalayan features a number of differences from the existing Himalayan. A front windshield, for example, is absent from this model. It is also equipped with a minimalist instrument cluster that looks to be identical to the one on the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 motorcycle. It looks likes a single-pod instrument cluster with a smaller screen that appears to be the Tripper navigation pod.

In addition to this, the new model’s headlamp mask has been altered to give it a better look and feel. The front wheel of Royal Enfield Himalayan’s new variant also appears to be smaller than the existing Himalayan, which is 21-inch in size. Aside from that, the front racks are also intact but we can observe a new single-piece seat and a rear rack. It’s also missing a beak at the front of the motorbike, indicating that this is more likely a road-oriented variant.

It has been speculated that the upcoming variant of Royal Enfield Himalayan would use the same 411cc single-cylinder engine that powers the company’s existing model, based on prior spy pictures. A few minor tweaks may be made by the brand, though, in order for the engine to run more smoothly. However, the company has not revealed anything yet about this upcoming variant, but we still anticipate the bike hitting the Indian two-wheeler market soon.
