New MG Astor Midsize SUV Variant-Wise Price List in India

MG Motors officially launched their all-new Astor midsize SUV in India back on October 11, 2021, with a starting price tag of Rs 9.78 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, and Mahindra XUV700 rival commenced on October 21, at all brand-authorized showrooms and the official website. The brand recently also started the deliveries of the Astor SUV with the target of delivering at least 5000 units before the end of 2021. MG Motors has also announced that the introductory prices will be valid for this year only.

The MG Astor is available in five variants named “Style”, “Super”, “Smart”, “Sharp”, and “Savvy”. When it comes to the features of the newly launched MG Astor, it gets the first-in-segment AI. However, it is not standard in all of the variants and will be available in the top-spec variants only. The car’s exterior features a bold celestial grille, full LED Hawkeye headlights, turbine inspired machine alloy wheels, LED taillamps, and a Chrome accent dual exhaust.

On the inside of the car, it has a dual-tone Sangria Red interior theme with a fully digital instrument console with a 17.78cm embedded LCD screen, digital car key with Bluetooth technology, panoramic sky roof, push-button engine start-stop, 6-way power-adjustable seat, 5 USB charging slots, 1 power outlet, Electronic Power Steering with mode adjustment (Normal, Urban, Dynamic), security alarm, and many more.

For the safety of passengers, it comes with a total of 49 features, of which 27 are standard, like an electronic stability programme, traction control system, hill hold control, 6 airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and more. While talking about the performance, two engine options are being offered: a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated, four-cylinder, petrol engine and a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine.

Talking about the technical specifications, the 1498cc VTi-Tech naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine is good for 110 HP and 144 Nm. It can be had with a 5-speed manual transmission or an 8-speed CVT gearbox. Coming to the second engine option, the 1349cc ‘220 Turbo’ petrol engine generates a maximum power of 140 HP along with a peak torque of 220 Nm. This engine option is available with a 6-speed automatic gearbox as standard. For now, there is no diesel engine on offer for the Indian markets.
