TVS Motor Company introduced the new Race Performance series to the country today with the launch of the very first product of this series. The all-new Apache RTR 165 RP made its official debut with a price tag of Rs 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom). However, the motorcycle will be sold online only and only 200 units will be sold. In a statement, TVS said that the RP series is inspired by TVS racing’s race machine, Lineage.
Speaking of the design and styling of the bike, the new Apache RTR 165 RP gets TVS racing decals, a revised seat cover, red alloy wheels, and customised stickers. In terms of features, this newly launched bike has all LED lighting, a brass-coated drive chain and sprocket, adjustable brake and clutch levers, upswept exhaust and Showa suspension. The bike rides on 17-inch wheels that are wrapped in 90/90-section front and 130/70-section rear tyres.

At its heart, the TVS Apache RTR 165 RP has a 164.9cc, oil-cooled, single-cylinder, 4-valve engine that is capable of churning out 19.2 HP at 10,000 RPM and 14.2 Nm of torque at 8,750 RPM when coupled to a 5-speed gearbox, which is further assisted with a slipper clutch. The motorcycle tips the scales at 148 kg and offers a power-to-weight ratio of 0.13 HP per kg and a top speed of 123 kmph. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both the front and rear ends, which are further linked to single-channel ABS.
