Toyota-Maruti joint venture SUV the Hyryder is going to make its official debut on July 1st 2022 on the Toyota platform. In India, this would be the third product marketed under the Suzuki-Toyota worldwide collaboration. Glanza (rebadged Baleno) and Urban Cruiser (rebadged Brezza) were the first two. Nonetheless, it will be a fresh SUV rather than a rebadged model.
Prior to its official introduction to the Indian market, spy shots of the Toyota Hyryder SUV surfaced online. These photos were taken during the TVC shoot, and this was the very first time the forthcoming SUV was spotted in an undisguised avatar. The model seen here is most likely the top of the range, having a dual-tone finish of red with a black roof.
As per the sources, Toyota has also given it the prefix Urban Cruiser. This new SUV, which should not be confused with the Vitara Brezza-based Urban Cruiser, will be an entirely distinct and larger car. The SUV will be almost four metres long and will sit atop the present Urban Cruiser.
Both the Toyota and Maruti models of the SUV are expected to be powered by 1.5-litre petrol engines. Lower variations are projected to have a moderate hybrid setup, while higher variants may have a complete hybrid setup. The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder complete hybrid will include Toyota’s hybrid system, equivalent to the ones seen on the Prius and Camry hybrid.
