By Hero MotoCorp recently launched the Super Splendor XTEC in India for Rs 83,368. (ex-showroom, Delhi). It has received a few updates for 2023, and here’s what we know about the new Splendor model.
The addition of Bluetooth connectivity and a digital instrument console is one of the most significant changes made to the Xtec trim. Hero has equipped the Super Splendor Xtec with a new LCD that can be paired with a smartphone. It provides access to missed calls/SMS alerts and various readouts. A speedometer, trip metre, odometer, fuel level readout, and mileage are all on the list. There is also a USB charging port beneath the instrument panel.
Hero MotoCorp has used an updated OBD 2-compliant 124.7cc single-cylinder engine in the new Super Splendor. This engine comes with a five-speed transmission and produces a max power of 10.7 bhp and a peak torque of 10.6 Nm. We expect that this engine will be as economical as the one used in the other Splendor trims. With the OBD 2 standards, the bike now receives real-world emission diagnostics.
While the majority of the styling on the Xtec model has been carried over from the standard model, the addition of an LED headlight is noteworthy. The unit also has an LED DRL that separates the high and low beams. The single-piece seat, grab rail, halogen turn indicators, and slim design remain unchanged. The Super Splendor Xtec is now available in two new colour schemes: Candy Blazing Red and Matt Axis Grey.
It has the same telescopic front forks and dual rear springs as the diamond frame. Meanwhile, the front now has a disc brake, while the rear has a drum unit with CBS (Combine Braking System). The 18-inch alloy wheels are shod with 80/100 front and 90/90 rear tyres. The drum brake version of the Super Splendor Xtec costs Rs 83,368. The disc brake version is at Rs 87,268 (both prices ex-showroom Delhi). The Super Splendor Xtec competes with Honda CB Shine 125 and TVS Raider 125.
