Royal Enfield currently has a lot on its plate in keeping with its four motorcycles each year strategy. With the introduction of the Super Meteor 650, revised Interceptor 650, and 650 GT earlier this year. Royal Enfield appears to be expanding its line of 650cc motorcycles with the Shotgun. A Shotgun 650 prototype that is almost ready for production was seen during road testing.
From its debut as a breathtaking concept bike at EICMA 2021, the Shotgun 650 has been one of the brand’s most-awaited motorcycles. Recently discovered test mules that are close to production seem much like the concept. This RE motorcycle has a strong appearance like the recently introduced Super Meteor.
The Shotgun 650 has a unique headlamp housing constructed of machined aluminium, like the Scram 411. The back part, and the gasoline tank, are different. Although turn indications and tail lights on the test mules are closer together than the Super Meteor.
Shotgun 650 has a redesigned rider triangle thanks to the relaxed appearance of the riding position. While the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 won’t have 19″ front and 16″ rear wheels like the Super Meteor, the test mule does have alloy wheels. When it is released, Royal Enfield will have a single-seat model as well.
The same 648cc air/oil-cooled parallel-twin engine, which produces 47 horsepower and 52 Nm of torque, will remain in place. A slipper clutch and a 6-speed gearbox are responsible for the transmission.
One of the features could be a USB port for charging mobile devices. We expect it will include Bluetooth connectivity and GPS, enabling turn-by-turn navigation. When it is released, the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 will compete against the likes of the Kawasaki Z650RS and Benelli Leoncino 500. The cost of a Royal Enfield 650cc shotgun might be close to Rs 4 lakh (ex-showroom).
