Hyundai Exter Micro SUV Bookings Open For Rs 11,000 in India

Hyundai has finally unveiled the forthcoming Exter SUV for India after a series of teasers. Hyundai has shown Exter’s external design for the first time. They announced the trim options and available powertrains in India. For a little booking amount of Rs 11,000, you can book the Exter now.

The Exter will have a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine as an option. The Exter’s output hasn’t been made public by the maker. The expected 83 horsepower and 114 Nm of torque are the same. According to Hyundai, the engine will be mated to either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. Similar to how it did with the Nios and the Aura, Hyundai will provide a factory-installed CNG kit for the Exter at launch.

The full design of the vehicle was already visible in recent spy images taken while it was being tested in South Korea. The model shown in India matches the model seen internationally. According to Hyundai, the Exter will be the first car to be marketed in India with the new “Ranger Khaki” exterior paint colour.

The Exter’s boxy proportions and upright stance are in keeping with Hyundai’s parametric design aesthetic. With LED DRLs arranged in an H form, it has split headlights. The front fascia is also given a big chin, a faux-silver skid plate, and a broad, contrasting black grille.

Hyundai hasn’t yet revealed how the Exter’s back looks. But earlier spy images indicated an upright tailboard, a shark fin antenna, and a small built-in spoiler positioned over the back glass. The rear bumper features a distinct skid plate, is tall and flat, and has a two-tone finish. Moreover, the taillamps contain H-shaped LED illumination elements.

Hyundai offers five trim levels for the Exter: S, SX, EX, SX(O), and the highest-spec SX(O) Connect. Hyundai is expected to reveal the Exter’s price sometime in late July or early August of this year. This SUV will be the company’s most affordable vehicle in India, which will sit below the Venue. The popular Tata Punch and Citroen C3 will be Exter’s main rivals in the Indian market.
