The brand-new 2024 KTM 390 Duke is almost here as its release date is approaching quickly. The motorbike was recently spotted testing without camouflage, revealing its entire design. While we wait for the new-generation KTM 390 Duke to be officially released, here’s everything you need to know.
The most significant change is a complete redesign of the styling. The new 390 Duke has an updated LED headlight unit with split DRLs in the boomerang style. The tank design is also new, and the tank shrouds are aerodynamically designed to extend all the way beyond the forks. The chassis has also been redesigned, and the composite rear subframe appears to be inspired by the KTM 890 Duke. The rearview mirrors, on the other hand, are similar to those found on the KTM 1290 Super Duke R.
The engine in the next-generation KTM 390 Duke is expected to be reworked. According to rumours, the new 390 Duke will be powered by a 399cc engine, with a focus on tractability and refinement. The spy images also hint at a slightly different crankcase and head design. We can anticipate an increase in power figures over the current model, which produces 43bhp and 37Nm.
Aside from the updated engine, the new Duke lineup will include a new gullwing-style swing arm and an underbelly exhaust. The new 390 Duke will be even sportier than the current model. An entirely new chassis and lighter wheels taken from the RC 390 that should have lower rolling resistance will provide agility.
It may have adjustable WP USD forks up front as well as an adjustable WP mono-shock. Both ends will have disc brakes, and dual-channel ABS with Supermoto mode will still be present.
We believe KTM will continue their tradition of unveiling the new-generation 390 Duke in November at EICMA 2023, followed by a market launch in late 2023 or early 2024. Based on the current version’s price in India of Rs 2.97 lakh (ex-showroom), we anticipate the 2024 KTM 390 Duke to cost around Rs 3.20 lakh (ex-showroom).
