Maruti Suzuki Invicto (Rebadged Toyota Innova Hycross) Launch on 5th July, 2023

Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming Innova Hycross-based Invicto MPV is ready for launch in the Indian market. The company has previously hinted that the MPV could be called the “Engage”, but as per the latest details available, it will be launched as “Invicto”. It is believed that Toyota will build the MPV for Maruti Suzuki India.

The Maruti Suzuki MPV is based on the Toyota Innova Hycross, and shares most of its components. The only visible differences are cosmetic, in order to differentiate the two vehicles.

The Maruti Suzuki Invicto will have a large, honeycomb grille with dual chrome bars and a large Suzuki logo in the centre. The grille merges with the front bumper, which has a prominent chin, a wide air dam, and separate enclosures for the fog lamps. The horizontally placed DRLs and indicators will be similar to those on the Innova Hycross.

Other cosmetic differences include a different set of alloy wheels and a revised rear bumper with a different design for the taillights. Inside, the Maruti Suzuki MPV will have a different dashboard and centre console, as well as different seats.

Despite these cosmetic differences, the Maruti Suzuki MPV and the Toyota Innova Hycross are essentially the same vehicles. They share the same platform, powertrain, and suspension. This means that the Maruti Suzuki MPV will offer the same level of performance, comfort, and safety as the Innova Hycross.

The new Maruti MPV is expected to have the same powertrain options as the Toyota Innova Hycross. This includes a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 173 horsepower, or a hybrid powertrain that produces 183 horsepower. Both engines can be paired with a CVT or e-CVT transmission.

The Innova Hycross, on which the new MPV is based, is currently priced between Rs 18.55 lakh and Rs 30.00 lakh. Maruti Suzuki’s most expensive car, the Grand Vitara Hybrid Alpha+, is priced at Rs 19.79 lakh. The new MPV, which is set to launch on July 5, will be the most expensive car in Maruti’s lineup. It will compete with other popular MPVs in the market, such as the Toyota Innova Crysta, the Mahindra XUV700, and the Maruti Ertiga.
