By The MY2024 Kia Seltos facelift has been spotted undisguised in India for the first time. The production-spec model was spotted near Kia’s manufacturing facility in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. For the India-specific version, which is considerably different from the one we saw for the worldwide markets, the much-anticipated facelift exposes a lot of new elements.
A new pair of LED headlights with LED DRLs going into the grille are added to the front profile. In the grille, those are DRLs, not merely chrome pieces. The grille has expanded and now has a chrome outline. The bumper has been revised with a more sculpted look and new housing for three-lens fog lamps. The side profile looks the same apart from the new look of the side cladding. Sadly, the alloy wheels are lifted from the current model’s X Line trim. They look exactly the same!
There are some substantial changes at the rear. It gets a new set of tail lamps with a connected bar that runs across the width of the car. This is the GT Line as you can see the badge on the tailgate. Notice the new bumper design with dual exhaust tips that might be fake because it comes with a single exhaust outlet. The cladding integrated rear reflectors and reverse lights as well. The dashboard gets a revised design with a sleeker dual-screen setup measuring 10.25 inches each. It is expected to come with a range of new features.
Kia is likely to offer the same 1.5-litre normally aspirated petrol engine providing 115 horsepower and 144 Newton-meters as well as the 1.5-litre diesel engine producing 115 horsepower and 250 Newton-meters. A new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine will replace the discarded 1.4-litre turbo. The new 1.5-litre mill generates 160 horsepower and 253 Newton meters of torque. This will include 7-speed DCT auto and 6-speed iMT gearbox options.
The Kia Seltos facelift is expected to be launched in India in the first week of July. It will compete with a wide range of cars including the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor, etc.
