By The launch of the track-only KLX 230 RS has been announced by Kawasaki India. It will enter our market at an ex-showroom price of Rs 5.21 lakh. The KLX 230 RS will be brought through the CBU route. That’s the reason for the bike to have this premium price tag.
The KLX 230R S is a stripped-down version of the standard KLX 230R and does not come with road-legal features. Such as a headlight, tail light, turn indicators, and rearview mirrors. But it does feature sleek bodywork, a tall-set front fender, fork gaiters, an upswept tail panel, a high-position exhaust canister, and wire-spoke wheels.
The KLX 230 RS comes with 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels shod in tube-type knobby tires. The S variant of the KLX230R has a relatively lower seat height than the standard model. The KLX 230 RS comes equipped with telescopic front forks and a rear mono-shock with long travel. The braking duties are handled by petal-type disc brakes on both wheels.
A 230cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that is mated to a six-speed gearbox powers the Kawasaki KLX 230 RS. The performance figures are 20 hp and 20.6 Nm of max output. The KLX 230 RS is a niche product and will appeal to hardcore off-road enthusiasts. In the global market, this bike is available in two colour options: Lime Green and Dark Grey, but for the Indian market, Kawasaki has only launched the Lime Green colour.
