Suzuki GSX-8S and GSX-S1000GX Unveiled at EICMA 2023

The all-new GSX-8R and GSX-S1000GX, which highlight Suzuki’s dedication to innovation and performance, were among the remarkable 2024 lineup that the Japanese motorcycle maker Suzuki unveiled at EICMA 2023, leaving a lasting impression.

1. Suzuki GSX-8R: The Sporty Tourer

Derived from the GSX-8S sports naked model, the GSX-8R takes on a new persona with a full fairing and raised clip-on handlebars. Positioned as more of a sporty tourer than a track-focused bike, it boasts a robust 776cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, delivering 82.9PS and 78Nm of torque. Notable features include a bi-directional quick-shifter, slip and assist clutch and ride-by-wire with three ride modes.

The suspension system on the GSX-8R is made up of a link-type mono shock and a 41mm inverted fork from Showa. With its distinctive design and performance-oriented features the GSX-8R adds a dynamic option to Suzuki’s lineup.

2. Suzuki GSX-S1000GX: Power and Precision

Built on the platform of the GSX-S1000 GT, the GSX-S1000GX packs a punch with its 999cc liquid-cooled inline-four-cylinder engine, generating 152PS and 106Nm of torque. Designed for precision and control, it features dual 310mm Brembo disc brakes with radially-mounted 4-piston calipers and a single Nissin disc at the rear, equipped with dual-channel ABS.

Setting it apart in the segment, the suzuki GSX-S1000GX incorporates Suzuki’s Active Damping Control for semi-active suspension with three preset settings: Hard, Medium, and Soft. Additional safety features include cornering ABS and traction control which makes it a formidable choice for riders seeking a thrilling yet controlled experience.

3. Suzuki V-Strom 800DE: Adventure Awaits

Also showcased was the V-Strom 800DE, previously unveiled at the 2022 EICMA event. This adventure-oriented model is expected to hit the market in the coming months potentially in early 2024. The V-Strom 800DE, spied earlier in India, promises a blend of versatility and performance for adventure enthusiasts.

4. Suzuki Hayabusa 25th Anniversary Model: Legendary Presence

The iconic ‘Dhoom’ bike, Suzuki Hayabusa, took center stage with the unveiling of the latest-gen model and a special 25th Anniversary edition and the Hayabusa retains its legendary status demonstrating Suzuki’s commitment to pushing limits and delivering timeless performance.

While Suzuki is unlikely to introduce the GSX-8R and GSX-S1000GX in the Indian market anytime soon, the V-Strom 800DE and the celebrated Hayabusa are set to make waves, providing riders with a thrilling range of choices in the adventure and sportbike categories, and fans of Suzuki can look forward to an exciting ride with these most recent additions to the lineup.
