Tata has made a significant advancement in the electric vehicle (EV) segment with the launch of the Tata Punch EV, priced between Rs 10.99 lakh and Rs 14.49 lakh. Pricing and Variants
- The Tata Punch EV is offered in five variants – Smart, Smart+, Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered+.
- The pricing ranges from Rs 10.99 lakh for the Standard variant to Rs 14.49 lakh for the Long Range Empowered+ variant.
Design and Platform
- Visually resembling the Nexon EV, the Tata Punch EV introduces a frunk (front trunk), LED light bar, split headlamp setup, and a new alloy wheel design.
- Built on Tata’s new Gen 2 architecture, Acti.EV, the Punch EV sets the stage for future Tata EVs and SUVs, including the Curvv EV, Sierra EV, and Harrier EV.
Battery and Range
- The Tata Punch EV offers two battery options – a 25kWh battery with approximately 315km of MIDC range and a 35kWh battery with around 421km of MIDC range.
- Charging options include a 3.3kW wall box charger and a 7.2kW fast charger, with support for DC fast charging (10-80 percent in 56 minutes using a 50kW fast charger).
Powertrain and Performance
- Long Range variants generate 122hp and 190Nm, achieving 0-100kph in under 9.5 seconds. Standard variants feature an 82hp, 114Nm motor, reaching 0-100kph in 13.5 seconds.
- The Punch EV exhibits a water wading capacity of 350mm and a ground clearance of 190mm.
Interior and Features
- The interior of the Tata Punch EV boasts a premium design with a new dashboard, twin 10.25-inch screens for infotainment and digital instrument display, and steering wheel paddles for regen control.
- Features include ventilated front seats, 360-degree camera, blind spot monitor, wireless phone charger, sunroof, and cabin air purifier. Lower variants come with a 7-inch infotainment unit.
Safety
- Safety features comprise six airbags, ABS, ESC, three-point seat belts for all seats, ISOFIX mounts, and more.
