The Mahindra Thar five-door variant is set to hit the Indian market later this year, with prices to be announced soon and recent reports of the car in testing shape offer an intriguing new feature and an inside look.

The latest spy shots circulating on the internet offer a glimpse inside the upcoming Mahindra Thar five-door model. One notable upgrade is the inclusion of a fully digital instrument console which is expected to resemble those found in its sibling models like the XUV400 and XUV700.

In addition to the digital instrument console, other noteworthy interior elements include a leather-wrapped steering wheel equipped with multifunction buttons, a roof-mounted interior rearview mirror (IRVM), circular air conditioning vents, and a grab handle positioned on the passenger side of the dashboard.

Previous spy shots have also hinted at several key features of the new Thar five-door variant such as redesigned headlights and daytime running lights (DRLs), an electric sunroof, newly designed dual-tone alloy wheels, a front armrest, and more.

The upcoming Thar model is expected to be available with a choice of engines including a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 2.2-litre diesel engine and these engines are likely to be paired with both six-speed manual and automatic transmissions providing customers with versatile options to suit their preferences.
