In India, there’s exciting news for last-mile deliveries and short-distance logistics: Qargos, a startup based in Pune, is working on an electric cargo scooter named the Qargos F9, which has been spotted undergoing testing recently.
Teaming up with Dassault Systemes, Qargos is designing the F9 to excel in carrying heavy loads. Its standout feature is a spacious cargo area in the front giving the scooter a longer appearance and incorporating the headlight within it. Riders will sit on a compact single-piece seat at the rear, while the handlebar is positioned above the cargo area, providing an upright riding stance. The distance between the front wheel and the handlebar suggests a special linkage mechanism connecting the two.
Qargos claims that the F9 will offer a storage capacity of 225 liters and can carry a maximum load of 120kg. It’s specifically tailored for last-mile delivery needs aiming to fill the gap between two-wheelers and three-wheelers in logistics.
Equipped with a 3.4kW motor and a 6.1kWh battery pack the F9 is expected to deliver a peak power output of 6kW and reach a claimed top speed of 80kmph. According to Qargos, the scooter can cover a distance of 150km on a single charge.
The anticipated launch for the Qargos F9 is slated for the end of 2024 or early 2025, with an expected price tag just under the Rs 2 lakh mark (ex-showroom).
