Among the highlights were the GT Plus Sport and GT Line variants for the Taigun SUV, along with the much-anticipated debut of the ID.4 electric vehicle. The event also marked the revamp of the line structure for the Taigun, Volkswagen’s highly acclaimed GNCAP 5-star rated SUV.
Revamped Line Structure for Taigun SUV
Under the revamped line structure, the Taigun will be available in three trims: ‘GT Edge‘, ‘Chrome‘, and ‘Sport‘. The GT Edge variants will feature the Edge Collection, offering exclusive exterior colour options. Meanwhile, the Chrome line will provide customers with a choice between two engine options. They can opt for the powerful 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine paired with either a 7-speed DSG or 6-speed manual transmission. Alternatively, they can choose the efficient 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, available with a 6-speed automatic or manual transmission.
Blacked-Out GT Sport Variant
The top-of-the-line Sport trim will receive a unique blacked-out treatment, adding a touch of sophistication to the SUV’s appearance. This trim will be offered in both the GT Plus Sport and the GT Line variants, giving customers the flexibility to choose the engine option that best suits their needs.
ID.4 Electric Vehicle Debut
One of the most exciting announcements at the conference was the debut of the ID.4 electric vehicle. This marks Volkswagen’s entry into the electric vehicle segment in India, signaling its commitment to sustainable mobility. The ID.4 is expected to offer a compelling combination of performance, efficiency, and advanced features, catering to the growing demand for electric vehicles in the market.
