Renault has unveiled the new 2024 Captur compact SUV for Europe, featuring a stylish makeover and enhanced technology. The updated Captur showcases a modern front design, aligning with Renault’s latest style. Inside, the cabin has received minor updates but now includes more advanced tech features.
Exterior and Interior Upgrades
The exterior of the 2024 Captur boasts a more premium look, with a newly designed grille showcasing Renault’s updated diamond logo. The wheel arches are more prominent, giving the SUV a bolder stance. The rear changes are minimal, with a redesigned bumper and updated C-shaped taillights. Customers can choose from wheel sizes ranging from 17 to 19 inches.
Renault introduces the Esprit Alpine trim as the top variant, offering dual-tone paint options. The interior remains largely unchanged but now features a new 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Google integration and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Renault has also opted for recycled materials in the cabin instead of traditional leather upholstery.
Engine Options and Driving Aids
Under the hood, the 2024 Captur offers a selection of turbocharged petrol engines for the European market. Options include a 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine with 90 horsepower and a 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine available in 140 and 160 horsepower versions. The engines are paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox, while the 160 horsepower variant also offers a 7-speed DCT automatic. Additionally, a 1.6-liter strong hybrid engine is available, providing a combined output of 145 horsepower.
The updated Captur comes with the latest driving aids, including a predictive hybrid driving function and Active Driver Assist for Level 2 autonomous driving. Production of the new model will begin later this year at Renault’s Valladolid factory in Spain.
Note for Indian Market
It’s important to note that the European-spec Renault Captur differs from the version sold in India. Renault currently has no plans to reintroduce the model in India but plans to launch two new SUVs in the coming years, with the next-generation Duster expected in 2025.
