By Tomorrow, Jeep India is set to launch the 2024 Jeep Wrangler, which has already made waves internationally last year. This updated version of the iconic 4×4 SUV features a fresh look and additional new features, although it will keep the same powerful petrol engine as before.
Exterior Updates
The new Wrangler boasts a sleek, redesigned exterior with a standout black grille that now has seven slats, giving it a modern edge. In India, it’s expected to be available in two versions: the Wrangler Unlimited and the Rubicon. While internationally, Jeep offers various roof options, it’s likely that in India, the choices will be limited to just a hard-top or a soft-top.
Interior Enhancements
Inside, the Wrangler has received a subtle makeover to accommodate a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The air vents have been repositioned below this screen for better accessibility. Notable upgrades in the cabin include a wireless phone charger, 12-way powered front seats, and a digital driver’s display. Jeep has also expanded its ‘U Connect’ services to enhance the vehicle’s connected car technology features.
Engine and Performance
Under the hood, the 2024 Wrangler will continue with the same 2-liter turbo-petrol engine, delivering 270 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and Jeep’s renowned full-time 4WD system. The Wrangler will maintain its exceptional off-road capabilities with multiple driving modes and locking differentials, standard features that are expected to remain.
Pricing and Market Position
The current Jeep Wrangler is available in two trims: the Unlimited and Rubicon, with prices starting at Rs 62.65 lakh and Rs 66.65 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. With the upcoming facelift, a slight price increase is anticipated due to the added features. The 2024 Wrangler will continue to be a strong competitor in the luxury SUV market, rivaling vehicles like the Land Rover Defender. Additionally, while it will be manufactured in India, there are plans to export it as well.
This launch is highly anticipated as it brings both aesthetic and technological updates to one of Jeep’s most legendary vehicles, combining traditional ruggedness with modern sophistication.
