2017 Maruti Suzuki Swift is the next big thing for India as it can push back the declining sales of country’s favorite hatchback with its entry. The year 2017 has not even started yet but the car will simply be the most awaited product among those millions of Suzuki fans for sure. Recently, a Japan spec brochure of the car has leaked online, clearing some more doubts about the upcoming hot hatchback globally. Since it has been detailed for Japan here, there may be some features that simply goes missing from the Indian Swift.

The Suzuki Swift that was seen on brochure is most effectively the top spec RS variant, carrying same visual additions and features as the India spec Ciaz RS. The body package is completed through front side and rear skirting while the colors here on offer includes Red, Blue, Grey, White and Black. The Japanese Spec car is equipped with SHVS, the mild hybrid system from Suzuki. Indian spec Swift may loose the feature if the production of the SHVS kit is not localized for the country.

Japan spec Swift carries 3 gearbox options, including the 6-speed automatic unit. They use 1.0 liter Boosterjet engine producing around 100 BHP while the Indian spec will carry the tried and tested 1.2 liter petrol and 1.3 liter diesel motor for sure. The car is said to based on Baleno’s lightweight platform, helping Maruti Suzuki shed around 100 kg from its current weight. Addition so SHVS can raise the weight by a small margin but it cannot be said that it will be added for sure in the new Swift.
