2017 Honda City was recently launched in Thailand at a starting price of 5,50,000 baht (INR 10.59 lakh). These prices remain the same as the older version in Thailand, hinting at a silent upgrade in India also. Honda can launch the same at a very close tag to the present price as the changes are minimum on the face-lift model. The Thai spec car comes in all Black interior while the India spec could use a dual tone color selection in its place.
The car uses new front LED headlamps that are nearly similar in design. The chrome grill is actually redesigned and runs directly into the lights now. Apart from that, the rear bumper has also been redesigned and the alloy wheels are now 16 inch in diameter. They are now machine finished and looks perfect to the car’s profile. The car keeps the same engine in the Thai model, hinting the same scheme under the Indian model.
Indian version of Honda City is powered by a 1.5 liter petrol as well as 1.5 liter diesel engine. The petrol model is powered by a 1497 cc, 4-cylinder engine producing 116 BHP and 145 Nm of torque while the diesel uses a 1498 cc, 4-cylinder motor that is good for 98.6 BHP and 200 Nm of torque. The car rivals Maruti Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Vento and Skoda Rapid in its segment. It was once the best seller among all others.
