The biggest scrambler from the Italian brand, the Benelli Leoncino 800 has been officially unveiled at the EICMA 2019. The motorcycle carries the same authentic traits shown by the other motorcycles under the Benelli’s portfolio which includes a retro-modern design, sculpted body panel and the ‘Lion of Pesaro’ motif at the front fender.

Coming to the major updates, in comparison to the concept model’s petal disc brakes, the production-spec Benelli Leoncino 800 now features conventional disc brakes at either end. In addition to this, the motorcycle now gets repositioned pillion footrest that further improves the ergonomics.

The motorcycle features 17-inch spoke wheels at either end with 120/70-17 and 180/55-17 tyres. In addition to this, the motorcycle now features an LED headlight setup plus it also gets an all-new TFT instrument console.

The Leoncino 800’s production variant features the same lozenge-shaped headlight mated to a small windscreen, as seen on the concept version. The front fender has been further equipped with the brand’s Lion mascot, similar to the one on the concept model.

Coming to the other mechanical changes, the motorcycle now features 50mm Marzocchi MTB forks at the front while the rear has been equipped with an adjustable monoshock absorber. The Leoncino 800 is equipped with 320mm dual front discs and a 260mm single rear disc.

To keep the cost under check, the brand has now equipped the motorcycle with Benelli’s in-house radial callipers, assisted by BOSCH ABS that have replaced the Brembo callipers shown on the concept version. The brand has equipped the motorcycle with tubeless tyres at either end.

Powering the Benelli Leoncino 800 is the same 754cc parallel-twin engine that does duty on the Benelli 752S. The engine is capable of churning out a maximum power of 81.6HP with maximum torque of 67Nm while the top speed is expected to stay at around 190kmph. The kerb weight of the motorcycle stands at 223kgs, making it one of the heaviest bikes in the brand’s portfolio.

The brand is likely to launch the Benelli Leoncino 800 in the Indian market though, there has been no official confirmation as of yet. The pricing and availability details of the motorcycle will be revealed by the brand in the coming days.

EICMA 2019 witnessed a host of premium motorcycle launches while the launch of Aston Martin AMB 001, the debut motorcycle from the brand has surpassed them all. The brand will be manufacturing only 100 units of its first-ever motorcycle, which has been specifically designed in collaboration with Brough Superior motorcycles.

Commenting on the launch of the premium sports bike, the official stated – “This is what we believe a cutting-edge motorcycle should be and we are very proud to see the Aston Martin wings on a motorcycle for the first time. In addition to applying the skills, we have developed for cars such as the groundbreaking Aston Martin Valkyrie we have also been able to bring our special expertise in the traditional craft techniques to this project. The finished product is a truly beautiful motorcycle; a design and engineering work of art.”

The retro-futuristic design offered to the motorcycle has officially redefined the “unique outlook”. The motorcycle has been equipped with a double-wishbone front fork while featuring an ocean blue colour shade with tons of carbon fibre detailing that shrieks of modern perfection.

The fin-inspired design borrowed from the premium Aston martin cars flows all the way from the fuel tank to the rear of the motorcycle. The single-seat design with yellow Oxford tan leather further sets it apart from any conventional rider seat.

Taking inspiration from the Aston Martin Valkyrie hybrid sports car, the Aston Martin AMB 001 sports bike features the same stainless steel wings under the front profile. Another set of aerodynamic wings further offered to the motorcycle just below the cowl integrates with the S-curve of the motorcycle and imparts additional downforce.

Powering the Aston Martin AMB 001 is a 997cc 8-Valve 88-degree V-twin turbocharged engine borrowed from the Brough Superior motorcycle that is capable of generating a maximum power figure of whopping 180HP. The dry weight of the motorcycle stands at 180kgs while the top speed has not yet been revealed by the brand.

The brand will be offering only 100 variants of the motorcycle that will hit production at Brough Superior plant in Toulouse, France. The Aston Martin AMB 001 has been launched with a hefty price tag of 108,000 Euros (INR 85 lakh, direct conversion).

The production-ready variant of the Aprilia RS660 has been recently revealed at the EICMA 2019 auto show. With best-in-class power-to-weight ratio, the all-new 600cc-segment fully-faired machine is expected to be a big turnaround for the middle-weight motorcycle segment.

Coming to the design language, the production-spec variant of the motorcycle gets the same looks as seen on the prototype model. The aggressive and edgy LED-headlight setup offers it a beast look while the 3-tone colour combination accentuates its unique profile. The brand has equipped the motorcycle with its latest electronics package including a six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU).

The electric suite offers the motorcycle with traction control, cruise control, cornering ABS, five riding modes, up/down quick-shifter, wheelie control, and engine braking system.

The Aprilia RS660 was initially unveiled as a concept at the EICMA 2018 and in comparison to the concept model, the production variant of the motorcycle now features a raised handlebar unit which replaces the aggressive handlebar setup revealed at the event last year.

The LED headlights have been mated to LED DRLs in addition to turn-indicators. The brand has further equipped the production variant of the motorcycle with a 5-inch, full-colour TFT display with Bluetooth Connectivity and GPS aid.

Coming to the rear profile, the concept variant of the motorcycle featured a sharper tail section in addition to a single-seat setup inspired from the Aprilia RSV4 though, the production variant of the motorcycle features a dual seat setup with a svelte tail section.

Coming to the suspension, the brand has offered the motorcycle with fully adjustable 41mm Kayaba forks at the front while the rear has been equipped with a monoshock unit. The braking duties are handled by disc brakes at either side with Brembo callipers as standard.

Powering the Aprilia RS660 is an RSV4 1100-inspired 660cc 2-cylinder engine that is capable of generating a maximum power figure of 100HP. The rider can further operate the motorcycle in 5 riding modes, three for street and the remaining two for the track.

The sportbike will be made available to the customers sometime in the year 2020 though the pricing details have not yet been revealed by the brand. Once launched in the Indian market, the Aprilia RS660 will compete with the likes of Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R and the all-new Triumph Daytona 765.

Hero Xtreme 1R concept motorcycle has been recently showcased by the brand at the EICMA 2019. With a futuristic design and an aggressive stance, the production variant of the successor to the Xtreme 200R is expected to be unveiled by the end of the year 2020.

Specifically designed to target the younger audience, the Hero Xtreme 1R concept motorcycle features sharp styling in addition to getting a sports bike persona. The kerb weight of the motorcycle stands at just 140kgs, all thanks to its sleek design profile while the LED headlight setup further adds to its sports bike look.

Coming to the rear, the motorcycle features a smaller tail profile flowing towards the rear while featuring an LED taillight and a GoPro camera just below it. The combination of red, white with blackened-out body panels further offer the concept variant a distinguished character.

The brand has equipped the concept variant of the motorcycle with a floating rider saddle though, the production variant might not come out with the same aggressive stance.

The slick tyres offered to the motorcycle in addition to a bulky front apron looks splendid and one cannot expect the brand to offer the same to the production variant. Hero MotoCorp has equipped the motorcycle with Xtreme 200R chassis with chunkier tyres but they are highly unlikely to be carried onto the production variant of the motorcycle.

There aren’t many details disclosed by the brand on the engine specifications though one can easily recognise the use of air-cooler integrated below the belly pan. If the brand decides to bring out the production variant of the Hero Xtreme 1R concept sometime in the next year, one can expect it to be equipped with an all-new high-performance 200cc liquid-cooled engine.

KTM has shocked everyone by unveiling the bigger and better version of the 790 Duke at the EICMA 2019. Being promoted as the ‘Super Scalpel’, the new KTM 890 Duke R is powered by an 890cc 2-cylinder, 4-stroke, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine. It is capable to generate a maximum power of 121HP @ 9250 rpm and a peak torque of 99Nm @ 7750 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

In terms of design, the 890 Duke R looks more or less similar to the recently-launched 790 Duke. As per the latest details available, KTM will replace the 790 Duke with the 890 Duke R in the Indian market sometime in the next year with an ex-showroom price tag of around INR 9 lakhs.

According to the reports, the less-powerful 790 Duke is affecting the popularity of the motorcycle brand ever since the introduction of the more powerful Kawasaki Z900, Ducati Monster 821, and Triumph Street Triple RS. To stay ahead in the game, KTM has revealed the 890 Duke R with more power and a better power-to-weight ratio.

Like the 790 Duke, the new KTM 890 Duke R is also equipped with an all-digital instrument console with KTM MyRide. In terms of braking, the street motorcycle is equipped with a 320mm front disc brake and a 240mm rear disc brake, which are further mated to a 2-channel Bosch 9.1 MP ABS unit, including Cornering ABS and Supermoto Mode (disengegable).

The KTM 890 Duke R is also equipped with traction control with lean angle sensitivity, 3 riding modes and an optional track mode. In terms of dimensions, the seat height of the motorcycle is 834mm whereas the ground clearance stands at 206mm. The fuel tank capacity is 14-litres while the 890 Duke R weighs 166kgs.

After being teased for multiple times, the 2020 KTM 1290 Super Duke R has been officially unleashed at the EICMA 2019 auto show in Milan, Italy. On the new-gen model, the first change that can be observed is that it has a completely new exhaust with downpipes snaking around the engine to improve the lean angle, which allows for a bigger radiator and better handling through corners. The radiator shroud fairing for the motorcycle is much more aggressive than the last-gen model of the KTM 1290 Super Duke R.

The 2020 KTM 1290 Super Duke R also has an all-new swingarm which is connected to the rear shock absorber via a link instead of being directly connected as on the last-gen model. Mechanically too, there has been some re-working on the powertrain as the updated 1301cc LC8 V-twin engine is now Euro5-compliant and it also gets a new cooling mechanism.

The updated engine of the 2020 model is capable to generate a maximum power of 177HP and a peak torque of 140NM. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The riding position of the bike looks pitched forward that is what we have already observed in the last-gen model of the Super Duke R.

Like the last-gen model, the 2020 KTM 1290 Super Duke R is also equipped with an all-digital instrument console. In terms of braking, the motorcycle is equipped with a 320mm front disc brake and a 240mm rear disc brake, which are further mated to a 2-channel Bosch 9.1 MP ABS unit, including Cornering ABS and Supermoto Mode (disengegable).

In terms of dimensions, the seat height of the motorcycle is 835mm whereas the ground clearance stands at 160mm. The fuel tank capacity is 16-litres while the 2020 model of the 1290 Super Duke R weighs 189kgs.

As of now, KTM has no plans to launch the 1290 Super Duke R in the Indian market. In case, the brand considers the streetfighter for India, it will be priced at around INR 15 lakhs and would be competing with other naked motorcycles like the Honda CB1000R+ and the upcoming Kawasaki Z H2.

As expected, KTM has officially revealed the much-awaited 390 Adventure at the EICMA 2019 in Milan, Italy. The all-new adventure motorcycle will launch in the Indian market on December 6 this year. The KTM 390 Adventure is heavily inspired by the 790 Adventure in terms of the overall design profile.

Mechanically, the KTM 390 Adventure is powered by the same engine as in the 390 Duke. The 373.2cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine is capable of producing 43HP of maximum power and 37Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. It was expected that KTM will tune the engine differentially to make the bike more adventure specific but, in comparison to the 390 Duke, the brand has not made any changes to the power and torque output.

The adventure motorcycle is equipped with a 100/90-19 front tyre and a 130/80-17 rear tyre. Talking about the comfort, the seat of the bike looks wide and high whereas the distance between the tyre and rear seat confirms extended suspension travel on the brand’s latest adventure motorcycle. Moreover, the 390 Adventure has got an ample amount of ground clearance, which stands at 200mm. The seat height of the motorcycle is 855mm whereas the fuel tank capacity is 14.5-litres.

Like the 390 Duke, the KTM 390 Adventure is also equipped with an all-digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity. In terms of braking, the motorcycle is equipped with a 320mm front disc brake and a 230mm rear disc brake, which are further mated to a disengageable Bosch 9M+ dual-channel ABS unit. The suspension travel stands at 170mm for the front wheel and 177mm for the rear wheel.

Coming to the pricing, the KTM 390 Adventure is expected to cost around INR 30,000 to INR 40,000 more than the 390 Duke, making it an INR 2.80-2.90 lakh motorcycle, which means it would still cost less than its nearest rival, the BMW G310GS, which is priced at INR 3.49 lakh (ex-showroom). KTM 390 Adventure will launch with BSVI-compliant engine, and the same updated engine will also make its way into the 390 Duke and the RC 390 in the coming months.

The crossover between a sports motorcycle and a tourer, the concept has been specifically designed under the ‘fun seven days a week’ theme, perfect for the riders looking for sports touring without giving up the ideas of relaxed commuting.

The Honda CB4X concept features the urban touring capabilities which is perfect to drive all seven days in a week no matter if you are commuting or planning a trip to the mountains. The concept has been powerfully penned by Honda’s designer, Valerio Aiello, in collaboration with his team. Powering the concept motorcycle is an inline four-cylinder liquid-cooled fuel-injected engine.

Coming to the design language, the CB4X concept features a unique fuel tank design, hunching towards the front while the windscreen is fully adjustable and well-integrated. The motorcycle features a diamond headlight setup up front, mated to LED DRLs. The single-seat setup further adds to its aggressive stance while the sharper rear adds to its unique persona. The use of 17-inch tyres at the front offers the crossover utmost stability on every terrain.

One can expect the brand to base the Honda CB4X concept on the same CBR650 engine offered to its other surprise concepts unveiled at the earlier events. The brand is yet to disclose other details of their splendid concept motorcycle though if brought to reality, the Honda CB4X will give a tough competition to the likes of Ducati’s Multistrada and BMW’s XR in the motorcycle segment. Here is the official press release for the Honda CB4X Concept motorcycle:

Honda’s Rome R&D Centre proudly unleashes the CB4X at EICMA

For the fifth successive year, Honda will use the ‘Design Studio’ area of its EICMA stand as the backdrop to showcase something totally new – in this case, the bold CB4X Concept.

The experimental machine – developed under the theme of ‘fun seven days a week’ – blends elements of Sport and Touring with a healthy dash of Crossover. It’s a design from the imaginative pen of Valerio Aiello, and his team of young designers, and is born from the desire to explore – and push – existing boundaries.

The CB4X features dynamic, yet compact lines, engineered to enhance the contrasting personality of a motorcycle that’s born to use every day on urban routes, but with which a rider can have fun on weekends carving mountain bends or devouring long journeys.

Its engine is a classic inline four-cylinder powerplant – the essential signature of the Honda Wing. The fuel tank hunches forward, like a cobra ready to attack its prey, while the screen is fully adjustable and integrates into the fairing. And the headlight is set like a diamond, injecting aggressive sophistication alongside the Daytime Running Lights (DRL). A beautiful aluminium subframe underpins the short, sharp tail while the 17-inch front wheel maximises steering precision.

The Honda CB4X is an idea dedicated to those riders who live for sports riding – but don’t want to give up the possibility of relaxing, two-up travel experiences whenever or wherever.
