Auto Expo India Next Edition Likely to Take Place in February 2023

As per the latest media reports, India’s biggest biennale automobile show, Auto Expo, is likely to return in Feb 2023. However, the precise dates are not yet available, but it is anticipated to be held between February 1st and February 10th. It is also likely to be organised every other year from 2023 onwards. The last time it was held was in 2020, but the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) has cancelled it for 2022 due to the COVID outbreak.

SIAM had made the decision to cancel for the safety of exhibitors, stakeholders, and visitors. The Auto Expo 2022 was supposed to be organised between February 2nd and February 9th, 2022, at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida. The Director-General of SIAM, Rajesh Menon, revealed that there are discussions being held regarding the next edition of the Auto Expo show, but the dates are yet to be fixed.

The Auto Expo show has been an immensely popular event in the Indian automobile industry for years. Almost all of the biggest automakers launch their products during this auto show. While looking at the recent updates, the launch of the 2nd-gen Hyundai Creta, the third-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift, the second-gen Amaze and various concepts from brands like Kia, Maruti and Mahindra are examples of crucial debuts.

Speaking of the delay in the event, it’s evident from the past as well that the delay in the Auto Expo is not happening for the first time. Earlier, the Auto Expo was held in 1986, but after that, it was organised after 7 years in 1993. However, that was the time when the Indian automobile industry was in an emerging growth phase.
