Bajaj-Triumph Scrambler Motorcycle – Details and Photos

The two models of the upcoming all-new bikes from the Bajaj Auto and Triumph Motorcycles partnership project were spotted testing recently and appeared to be in close to production form. Now, the new set of spy images has been found to get a clear idea of the upcoming Scrambler-style bike’s design and features. Bajaj and Triumph are expected to offer affordable premium bikes for the Indian market.

To begin, the Scrambler-style bike’s design and styling are inspired by its sibling bikes, such as the Triumph Street Scrambler and Scrambler 1200. This motorcycle features a small round headlight, knuckle guards, a small windscreen, a tyre-hugging fender, and a high-mounted beak fender. Even so, this bike gets a double-barrel exhaust muffler, which is similar to the bigger Scramblers.

However, because these were only testing bikes, the powertrain profile and everything else was carefully hidden, but one can still get the impression that the Scrambler-style bike will most likely get the single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with a vertically-mounted radiator that resembles the Bonneville. The engine displacement can not be expected though, but we can safely assume it to be sub-400cc.

Speaking of the suspension setup, it gets upside-down front forks and mono-shock rear suspension, unlike the traditional twin-shock setup that other Triumph bikes feature. The test mule rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels outfitted with Metzelers Karoo Street tyres that, according to the company, are capable of both off-roading and on-roading.

Besides all the other features, we notice that the test bike is also equipped with a side rack on the left, a tank-mounted Givi branded bag, and a rear top-box. In addition, the bike features a rectangular TFT screen, which is not similar to the Street Scrambler and Scrambler 1200 bikes, though. But it’s also worth noting here that the bike is a test mule only and that the final bike might feature the traditional instrumentation.
