Yamaha RX 135 is one of the most famous motorcycles with a 2-stroke engine that defines the legacy of the brand in the Indian market. The star performer of its time has been recently restored by Vedansh Automobile from Dehradun. The fully-restored 2004 model of the RX 135 retains the same stunning exterior like that of its standard version though features a Candy Red paint job.
There aren’t any mechanical changes made to the restored motorcycle. It continues to be powered by a 132cc, 2-stroke, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that is capable of producing a maximum power of 14HP at 7500 rpm and an utmost torque of 12.25 Nm at 7000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The suspension duties on the motorcycle are handled by telescopic forks at the front while the rear of the bike gets dual shock absorbers. The Yamaha RX 135 gets 130mm drum brakes at either end. The company-claimed top speed of the motorcycle stands at 110 kmph.
Retaining the duplex double cradle type frame, the customization made to the motorcycle includes a redesigned handlebar from Protaper. The grab rail of the motorcycle has been altered a little bit and the open-ended design doesn’t gel with the classic design of the Yamaha RX 135. The instrument console, chrome spoke wheels, as well as the headlight, retains their retro originality.
